Conceptualist and DJ Ben Komor (TH '04) was born in 1985 in Tokyo, Japan. He spent the first eight years of his life traveling the globe with his parents, listening to Yo-Yo Ma and playing the violin. The Chemical Brothers "Block Rockin Beats" release in 1997 marks a turning point in Ben's life. A whole new immense electronic sound scape was now rapidly unraveling and expanding itself for Ben. As a result, in 1999, he swapped his violin for a pair of decks.

After high school he moved to London for a year where he studied electronic music at the Academy of Contemporary Music. This meant being exposed to the various styles of UK's electronic music and Ben started experimenting with different genres like house and minimal, which eventually lead him to create his own versatile approach towards music.

In 2004 he moved to Amsterdam where he teamed up with lifetime buddy and partner in crime Jop. Their mutual love for music resulted in the infamous Particle gonzo journalism; interviewing numerous artists across the globe, as well as deciding to start organizing. Nowadays he's the organizer and resident DJ behind the successful Carnivale nights at Club AIR.

Claire Timmermans (Jo '03) en Sheila Hill - Deze twee beste vriendinnen zijn als grap begonnen met draaien om hun vrienden een leuke avond te bezorgen, tot hun verbazing is deze act inmiddels uitgegroeid tot een groot succes. Zelf hebben ze de grootste lol als ze achter de draaitafels staan, dat is te zien en te horen! Van Valtifest tot Hush Hush en lola's het wordt altijd een gekkenhuis!

Epic & Ginger: het recentelijk vers aangeleverde DJ-duo uit Amsterdam. De twee vriendinnen Annemarie van Gerrevink (KA '05) en Cicely Telman (Knor) vieren meer dan graag feestjes voor en achter de DJ-booth. Hun favoriete muziek bestrijkt een breed gebied, van house tot disco maar het is de act eromheen die je niet wilt missen... Na hun debuut in de Silence Disco van de Sugar Factory, staan zij nu exclusief in de Odeon!

Jop van de Graaf (B '04) and Jordi Bouman (B'04) have known each other for a while. They are friends and are not afraid to show it. This is the first thing you notice when you see the two of them performing. Friendship and fun is the key element in their gigs. The two of them have witnessed too many dj's that take themselves too seriously behind the decks. You will always hear this duo say that interaction with the people in the audience is critical to a good set. It makes an evening fun and therefore more memorable.

This doesn't mean that the people that see them play have to trade in good music to get a little bit of a show. Jop and Jordi want to give you both. Over the years they spent many nights staying up and discussing music, tuning in on each other's preferences concerning dance music. They don't listen to exactly the same songs every day, but their tastes have definitely grown towards each other. Both have learned to adapt, finding a perfect middle ground. This way, the listener gets the better of two worlds, the best of their musical tastes combined. Some people call it house, others speak of techno, but neither Jop nor Jordi care if it's called Industrial Psy Bubblin, they only distinguish between good music and bad. And more importantly, by learning form each other, they learned to tell apart the right and wrong moments for a particular song or sound.

This year, the two of them have started producing music together as well. Both are very optimistic about the results and they hope to send their music your way as soon as possible. Come see them at their gigs. Make friends with them and ask them for a shot of vodka: they always carry a bottle or more with them behind the decks.

Reinier Suyderhoud en Andreas Pasvantis (VS '03) vormen samen het duo Sir Loin & Mr Moist. Na hun jeugd afzonderlijk van elkaar gepassioneerd met muziek bezig te zijn, met name de house -en dance muziek, kwamen zij erachter dat ze zoveel raakvlakken hadden en besloten er iets mee te gaan doen. In 2006 zijn zij het duo Sir Loin & Mr Moist gestart. "Je kan onze muziek het beste omschrijven als een combinatie van tech-house, deep-house, electro en techno met een melodieuze basis." Er zijn al vele clubs die hebben mogen genieten van de verrassende energieke sounds van Sir Loin & Mr Moist.
